MY BOOKLET – CONNECTING FIBERS, THREADS AND THOUGHTS
A workshop with diverse elements: binding a book, felting a cover for it and combining everything into a unique booklet. But what would you like to keep in your book? What shall it be?
1st day I will give an introduction into the world of bookmaking, we'll fold paper, sew pages and learn how to bind an A5 or smaller booklet.
After preparing a welcoming interior, we'd create a cover for it the 2nd day.I will explain a method of composing handmade pre-felts in an ornamental or figurative way, which enables you to develop your individual artistic expression. Embellishing its surface and adding buttons or fastenings will give your book a good finish and a very personal touch.
All of you will know about the spiritual effect of felting. This workshop will allow moments of introspection and self discovery.

VITA Karen Betty Tobias
Künstlerin und Kunsttherapeutin (Abschluss Alanus Hochschule Alfter) mit eigenem Atelier in Köln. Autorin des Buches „Faszination Komposition“, das 2014 im Buchhandel erschienen ist. Regelmäßige Ausstellungen und langjährige Dozententätigkeit im In- und Ausland. Unter dem Label „Putz&munter“ hat sie 15 Jahre lang ihre ausgefallenen, farbstarken Accessoires vermarktet, die ihre Kunst tragbar machen.
In den Workshops und Seminaren von Karen Betty Tobias geht es ums Experimentieren und um Wissensvermittlung, gewürzt mit einem besonderen Augenmerk auf Farb- und Formgestaltung aus künstlerischer Sicht. Vor dem Hintergrund ihrer therapeutischen Tätigkeit sind weitere Schwerpunkte die Selbstbegegnung im kreativen Tun und die Lösung kreativer Blockaden.
